Bug has always wiped his nose with his index fingers. Always. I’ve tried and tried and tried to break this habit, but to no avail. He just isn’t having it.
The worst part about it is when he gets a booger on his finger. Aside from the obvious disgustingness, he would freak out and scream the “HELP ME! I! AM! DYING!” scream of eardrum-shattering proportions. “Mom! Booders! EWWW! Howp! Got Booders! EWWW! Howp me!!” And then I would have to get a tissue and I would have to wipe off the booder because OMFG!! “A booder! EWW! No, you do it!” (Translation: Mom, no way in hell am I using a tissue to touch MY booger that is already touching me.) And then I would have to take him to wash his hands.
But just now, he calmly walked up to me and said “Mom, got booder. Can you howp me?” I told him to get a tissue. And he did. And then he used the tissue to take his very own booder off his very own finger. And then he went to go wash his hands. All by himself.
That right there? Is progress. And a phase I’m not sad to see go.
LOL!! That one is so cute. What a big boy you go there. Next comes girls!!
Some day, he’ll graduate to using the back of his hand! (Or his sleeve!)
awww a booder…how cute.
